Galentine’s Day is Approaching 

Single this Valentine’s Day? Don’t worry. There is still a way to spread love. Not only to ourselves, but to the women in our lives. If you haven’t heard of it yet, you’ve been missing out. We are proud to share with you, this very special day, honoring the women friendships in our lives. February 13th is the Nationally and unofficially official, Galentine’s Day! Originating from the TV show ‘Parks and Recreation,’ this holiday is all about declaring love and affection to the girls who make up our support system.

February is already a love filled month.

We’re quick to shower our significant others with gifts and treats on February 14th, but the previous day has now been designed to celebrate the other equally important relationships in our lives with our girlfriends! Galentine’s Day should bring together the ladies in your life that you love most. Be it your mother, sister, cousin, friend, co-worker, or just general female companion, they are each phenomenal, and there is nothing like them.

Galentine’s Day lands on February 13th, which precedes Valentine’s Day, for lovers.

The familiar holiday fills the void in the market that leaves single women feeling left out. Single or not, this can be celebrated among all identifying gals. “Every February 13, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.” Leslie Knope, the Parks and Recs character/inventor of this day. You have to check out the episode. It’s the 16th episode, and its titled, “Operation Ann”. Most epically, watch along with the gals you celebrate with.

On the show, Leslie hosts an official waffle brunch and gal themed gift exchange. There is an abundance of ways to celebrate the joy of female friendship, and do something special for the phenomenal women in our lives. You can do no wrong. There aren’t any specific traditions for this day. So have fun, and feel free to personalize it however you see fit for your best gal, gals, and/or gal squad.

Think of Galentine’s Day as what Friendsgiving is to Thanksgiving.

Over the years, more gals become aware when things like dedicated happy hours, brunch & spa deals, store discounts, and businesses promotions have all popped up over the years. Making it a piece of (chocolate) cake to publicly honor of this day. RED has hopped on board, and now that we’ve been made aware, we will proudly offer a Galentine’s Day chocolate special. Keep an eye out around 2/13! Gifting the most decadent and healthy chocolate to indulge in, with honor, is always the way to go. Whether you are a new or seasoned advocate, this day is notable.
