There is more to be grateful for in November other than colorful, falling leaves and the best food holiday, ever. Did you know that November is also National “Fun with Fondue” month? Make your Thanksgiving special this year by whipping up the most decadent chocolate fondue.

Fun with Fondue

Are you ready to break out that fondue set sitting in your basement? Or, maybe you’ve never had a fondue set, but have always wanted to buy one? Do it now. This has been a tough year. Try something different this Thanksgiving, or just for yourself. You deserve it. Make chocolate fondue.

Velvety, warm, gooey, dunkable. Should we keep going?

In essence, chocolate fondue is basically ganache. Many people tend to avoid it because of its heavy cream content, which is high in fat and calories. But, what if some of these calories could be avoided?

If you want to avoid cream, use whole milk for a thinner and healthier fondue. Using RED, you’ll avoid no added sugar, up to 50% fewer calories, and less fat than other brands. This will be your healthiest, richest go-to chocolate fondue yet.

Now, go to the store and grab some heavy cream (or whole milk), RED dark or milk chocolate, and some delicious fruit and cookies to dip in the most heavenly sauce.

Chocolate Fondue

Level: Easy

Prep Time: 15 minutes+ (depending on what dippables you have to cut up or display)

Servings: 8

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz. of crushed RED chocolate of your choice (can be all dark or a blend)
  • 8 oz. heavy cream (whole milk can be used and results in a thinner fondue)
  • ½ tsp. pure vanilla extract (no one is judging you if it’s imitation)
  • Pinch of salt
  • For dipping: assorted fruit, cookies, bread, and other sweets such as marshmallows

Instructions:

  • Get out all components of your fondue set (pot, stickers, etc.).
  • Chop up the chocolate and put it directly in the fondue pot you will be using.
  • Cut up all “dippables” and display them on a large tray or plate. Berries can be used whole. If you are using other fruit, slice this up. Add other cookies, sweets, or cut up the bread of your choice.
  • Heat cream or whole milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until it starts to slowly simmer. Do not bring to a rolling boil. If heating in the microwave, do 30-45 second intervals and stir in between.
  • Pour cream or milk over the chopped chocolate. Whip until it is a well-mixed, chocolate sauce. Add the vanilla and salt. Stir again.
  • Serve fondue immediately with your variety of delicious, bite-sized snacks.

1 Serving of fondue alone:

Nutritional information will vary depending on if you use heavy cream or whole milk, and what type of chocolate you use (dark or milk).
